Springtime is here again, and with the warmth and renewed bloom of the landscape an ancient menace returns!
The deceptively cuddly Harbinger of Spring has found its way onto Ellan Vannin. The Kings of the Realms have placed a bounty on this beast for any who wish to drive the menace out of their lands and to collect the coveted Gem of the Harbinger!
The Rites of Spring event will continue through Monday, April 4th.

Are you feeling lucky?
In celebration of St. Patrick's Day and running from now until Monday, March 21st, a brand new random-object-generated (ROG) reward awaits those that can complete the first annual 'Leprechaun Treasure' quest. One quest completion per character!
To get the quest, level 50s should pay the following poor souls a consoling visit:
Edmund in Cotswold's tavern
Bjorne in Mularn's beer hall
Silvadren in Mag Mell's pub
-
As part of the quest, players will be shapeshifted into a realm-specific "leprechaun" but have ALL of their stats debuffed by 75%.
-
But fear not, leprechauns may be weak but they are also nigh impossible to catch: shapeshifted players will also have an unbreakable CC-immunity and speed buff for the duration of the shapeshift.
-
Oh, and we hear the real leprechauns love hiding their treasure on the new RvR zone of Ellan Vannin. Enjoy some zany RvR through the weekend!
-
The ROG reward is a choice between a ring or a bracer similar to the Valentine's Day event with some slight differences. These ROGs will only allow up to 5 slots for stats but will also have 1 of 6 possible /uses.
For players of all level ranges, there are three pesky little tricksters who are hoping you're not too lucky! A 'charming' reward will be bestowed upon those who have the cunning to out-wit:
Killaghe in Albion
Daighu in Midgard
Iollarme in Hibernia
The "Luck of a Leprechaun" quest can be obtained from the following:
Sir Prescott in Cotswold
Hrolf in Mularn
Epona in Mag Mell
Once again, the event will run until Monday, March 21st.
A happy and safe St. Patrick's Day to one and all, and we'll see you in the Frontiers!

Update 1:10 PM EST: The Live servers and Pendragon have all returned from the downtime this morning. Thank you very much for your patience!
Please read the following notes below carefully:
-
The Midsummer's Event has now come to an end and the Traveling Merchants have packed up their wares and ventured out of the realms for a time.
Guild Creation
Guilds are a core component of Dark Age of Camelot and we want to keep them that way. Unfortunately, as the game has matured, many players have begun using guilds to store their alternative or low level characters rather than as a community-enhancing feature. The following changes are designed to help alleviate the influx of the number of new guilds created. However, we also have plans to help make existing, active guilds a more attractive destination for players (over choosing to create a new guild) in the future.
-
Guild Creation has been re-enabled with the following new restrictions:
-
Trial Accounts can no longer be used to help form a guild.
-
Guilds now cost 10 platinum to form.
-
A character that has formed a guild as the group leader (at the time of guild formation) will no longer be able to then form another guild as the group leader. This is not a retroactive change, so all existing characters that have been the group leader at the time of a guild formation can form one new guild before being affected by this change.
Changes
-
King Uther, Queen Cliodna, and Ymir's encounters in Lyonesse, Bog of Cullen, and Vanern Swamp have had their difficulties slightly reduced again.
-
The quest, Energetic Collections, now allows succubi to be killed anywhere they are found in the game.
-
(Pendragon Only) The Pendragon server's ruleset has been changed to PvP or Free-for-All. NPCs assisting with the 5v5 Tournament will be outside the Throne Room in each capital city in the coming days.
-
Labyrinth Obelisks no longer require characters to 'activate' them before their use. All characters can teleport to all obelisks in the Labyrinth.
-
900 additional quests have been added to the Quest Journalist NPC in the capital cities.
-
Level 50 characters can click the keyword [higher] to remove completed quests from your journal.
-
If you are having issues completing or accepting quests, and your pending quest journal has less than 20 quests in it, please visit these Quest Journalists!
Bug Fixes
-
All armor and weapons dropped in the Koalinth Caverns and Vendo Caverns dungeons should drop at the proper quality value now.
-
The Ten Hands Jewel is now trade-able.
-
Relics can no longer be carried into the safety of the Border Keeps. Instead, the relic will drop to the ground if a relic-carrier gets too close.
-
Relic carriers can no longer board galleons.
-
The Earth Horse quest in Albion can once again be obtained.
